Ever wanted to get onstage and share your story? Maybe you’ve written poetry before but weren’t sure how to perform it, or perhaps you’d love to develop your confidence in public performance. In this two-hour workshop, spoken word artist Katie Ailes from the collective Loud Poets will guide you through some fun creative writing exercises to help you write your own poetry. Then we’ll go over some handy tips for performance (How do I adjust a mic? What do I do if my hands are shaking?) so that you can be confident sharing your work with the world!
Everyone will have time to draft a piece of writing, practice performing it, and get feedback from others. This fun workshop is open to all, whether you’re a practiced poet or you’ve never penned a verse before. Come get loud with us!
