We all seem to be living busy, stressful lives, and some of you may have heard of mindfulness but not be sure if it is for you. This Mindfulness Taster Class is designed to introduce you to some of the ideas and practices of mindfulness. It is suitable for complete beginners and for those with some experience of practising it. We will explore what mindfulness is, and look at ways of incorporating it into your daily life to help you cope with stress, anxiety, chronic pain and simply find ways of being at ease. This class is particularly suitable if you are coping with stress (such as at work, exams, or in your daily life), trying to live with a chronic health condition (such as chronic pain or mental health issues) or simply want to find out more and see if it is for you.
You don’t need any equipment (but feel free to bring a comfy cushion/bolster and blanket), and it is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, even if you cannot sit or stand for very long. You will hopefully come away feeling a bit peaceful, having learnt something useful, some ideas of how to incorporate mindfulness into your life, and some information about how to take it further if you want to learn more.
